Course description
The built environment is integral to the functioning of all aspects of society. Debates concerning the quality and design of the built environment, transport infrastructures, housing provision, urban regeneration, conservation and the natural environment will continue to dominate policy making. In this broad-based programme you will gain a thorough and critical understanding of the kinds of issues that affect such decision making, as well as gain skills to enable you to enhance your career opportunities and contribute towards your personal development. The emphasis is on choice.
This programme offers you the opportunity to study a bespoke higher degree in the subjects that you choose. These will be drawn from existing postgraduate programmes in disciplines such as Town Planning, Housing, Urban Regeneration, Property Development and Planning, Civil Engineering and Structural Design, Architecture, Construction and Construction Project Management, and Building and Quantity Surveying. It will provide you with the opportunity to study a unique blend of technical, managerial and policy issues.
To provide flexibility, the award is staged with a PgCert after one year part-time study, PgDip after two years and an MA following the successful submission of a dissertation in a topic of your choosing.
