Course description
This unit is intended to enable qualified dyslexia practitioners to apply knowledge, skills and a problem solving self-reflective approach to supporting individuals in the workplace. It explores the demands of the workplace, implications of relevant legislation, methods and considerations in assessing the needs of individuals in employment and underpinning theories and research. It offers a range of strategies for delivering individual dyslexia training and support in the workplace and advising other staff, and recommending organisational adjustments to support the dyslexic individual.
LLU+ is a national consultancy and professional development centre which aims to improve the quality of individuals’ education and training to enable them to achieve success. LLU+ works primarily in the areas of literacy, numeracy, dyslexia, family learning and English for speakers of other languages but also has specialists in learning support, language, maths, the application of learning styles and approaches to teaching and learning. LLU+ offers organisations consultancy and advice, project development, trainer education, research and development and professional development networks.
LLU+ is one of the main professional development centres for adult dyslexia support and for developing dyslexiafriendly environments.
