Accommodation

McLaren House

Located conveniently to nearby bars, restaurants and mini–markets, McLaren House is a five-minute walk from the Southwark campus and overlooks Borough Road. There are 613 en-suite single bedrooms and six single bedrooms with shared facilities. Bedrooms are grouped together in self contained clusters of three, five or eight bedroom flats. There is an on-site management team supported by student assistants who provide 24 hour cover. The building also includes a laundry and common room with TV. All bedrooms have phones and data connections.

Dante Road

Within a ten-minute walk from the main campus, Dante Road is conveniently located to the nearby local shopping centre and a number of bars and restaurants. The purpose built complex has 414 single bedrooms, organised into groups of either four or six bedrooms within nine accommodation blocks. Dante Road is located on a residential street. The residence also has two launderettes. All bedrooms have phones and data connections. There is an on-site management team supported by student assistants who provide 24 hour cover.

New Kent Road

A ten-minute walk from the main campus, New Kent Road contains 81 single bedrooms within self-contained flats. The residence has its own security gates and is enclosed within a central courtyard. The relatively small number of residents creates a ‘community atmosphere’. The building also has its own launderette, a common room with TV and all bedrooms have phones and data connections. Student assistants provide on-call cover outside office hours.

Private accommodation

For those of you who prefer to live in privately rented accommodation, LSBU’s Accommodation Office has an extensive list of landlords and produces a range of publications to help you find somewhere to live. The Student Union can also provide advice through its advisory service. Rent can start at £80 per week. Students will, however, be required to make arrangements directly with their landlord.
