My LSBU…

MSc International Tourism Marketing
My life at LSBU
I wanted to study International Tourism Marketing on a part-time basis but when I did the research to find out how many universities offered this course I didn’t find many. I liked LSBU because of its location and also the fact that the University is very supportive of mature students and celebrates diversity.
There are very good facilities at the University and the lecturers know their stuff. Anyone who makes the most of what the University offers will indeed become what they want to be. LSBU is also very supportive of students no matter your circumstances.
I have always wanted to work in Marketing but I have a passion for Travel and Tourism and so I wanted to specialise in Tourism Marketing by doing the MSc in International Tourism.
Work/life/learning in London
The last time I studied was in 1997 and so coming back to university was a bit daunting in the first year. I had a full-time job, a baby and a toddler and so I could only study at night when everyone was sleeping! Even though it has been hard work because of family commitments, work and a voluntary engagement, it has been a very fulfilling experience.
I live in Greater London and the best thing about studying at LSBU is the easy accessibility. It doesn’t take me too long to get to university, and I can work at the same time as studying. I love going into the shopping centre as you can pick up things you normally wouldn’t find in typical shopping centres. There a few very unique shops there. The area is also easily accessible to many places, especially central London.
