Course description
This course is a programme of study for graduates of subjects other than psychology. Successful completion of the course will confer eligibility for the Graduate Basis for Registration of the British Psychological Society, a prerequisite for undertaking professional postgraduate programmes in Psychology and subsequently being eligible to register as a Chartered Psychologist.
The course will be of special interest to graduates who want to change or enhance their career prospects by training as a professional psychologist. On the course you study the main sub-disciplines of psychology (Cognitive, Developmental, Social, and Biological Psychology and the Psychology of Individual Differences) plus a programme of Research Methods and Statistics leading to the completion of an independent piece of empirical psychological research. You also have the opportunity to study two optional courses.

Typical background of applicant
Students on this course will have a degree (with a minimum of second class Honours) and will normally have at least three years post-degree graduate-level work experience.
