Entry Requirements

We welcome applications from all those who have the potential to succeed in postgraduate or post experience studies and we consider all our applicants on their individual merits.

Am I qualified to apply?

Our students come to LSBU through many different routes, so whilst applicants normally require a first degree (usually at least a 2:2), we do recognise that many people have a wealth of valuable skills and knowledge developed at work and in previous training. We can also assess prospective students’ prior learning to take into account previous qualifications and training, which may be used as the basis for exemption from certain course units.

Our admissions tutors look for evidence of motivation and commitment from all applicants. It is essential that you have achieved a good standard in maths or numeracy, communication and IT. You will also need to demonstrate a good knowledge of and interest in the subject area to which you are applying.

Taught courses

For postgraduate diploma and Masters courses the normal entry qualification is an Honours degree or equivalent. For some postgraduate diplomas alternative qualifications are accepted along with relevant work experience. We consider each application individually and will also consider candidates who can demonstrate that they have reached the normal entry requirements on the basis of prior experiential learning.

Post-experience courses have specific entry requirements and candidates should consult the relevant course entry and course director. For some courses there are additional entry requirements. See the individual course pages for further details.
