Course description
Building on our long established Social Work degrees and practice teacher courses we are offering step-on, stepoff pathway in Practice Education. This begins with the Mentoring and Enabling Others Learning unit that is required for social workers wanting to work with a student on a pre-qualifying social work course. Social Workers wanting to advance their skills in Practice Education can study for the units leading to the PgCert/Higher Specialist and MA/ Advanced Award.
This course offers opportunities for Practice Educators to develop a sound understanding and knowledge of their role in relation to teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum design. It will enhance their leadership skills, by encouraging critical reflection, working with and learning from service users and carers and interprofessional learning.
On successful completion of the MA in Practice Education students can consider further study at doctorate level.
