Course description
This course will familiarise you with the concepts and tools of marketing and its vital role in business. This will enable you to operate in highly competitive markets and implement both the tactical and strategic decisions available to the marketing manager.
You will also be provided with the tools to monitor and evaluate actions arising from marketing decisions. The core units provide the non-business graduate with the necessary grounding in the marketing business field to then specialise in specific areas. The course concentrates upon tactical and strategic implementation of the business marketing function in a competitive environment. You will be able to choose two options in semester two to give you opportunities to specialise in specific areas.
Career opportunities
Successful students enter into different types of organisations including multinational and global companies, public sector organisations, charities and start-ups. The programme will equip you to work in a variety of marketing fields such as: product management, brand management, service marketing, account management, market research, or in a specialist function with a sound knowledge of the role and contribution of marketing.
Your dissertation will also offer opportunities for research into specific areas of marketing. You will be able to enter into different types of organisations including multinational and global companies, public sector organisations, charities and start-ups.
Typical background of applicant
Typical students on this programme will have a good first degree from any subject area. This course is aimed at those with no, or little, background in business, therefore our students might come from an engineering, science or arts environment.
