Advanced Numeracy (Level 3)

Course description

This course is for numeracy practitioners, or those preparing to teach numeracy, who wish to improve their personal numeracy skills above Level Two. The content addresses both knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts. We also hope to include an optional academic writing skills element. It is an appropriate preparation for entry to the Certificate in Lifelong Learning for Adult Numeracy Specialists and Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (Numeracy focus). Successful completion leads to the award of an appropriate Level Three.

LLU+ is a national consultancy and professional development centre, which aims to improve the quality of individuals’ education and training to enable them to achieve success. LLU+ works primarily in the areas of literacy, numeracy, dyslexia, family learning and English for speakers of other languages, but also has specialists in learning support, language, maths, the application of learning styles, and approaches to teaching and learning. LLU+ offers organisations consultancy and advice, project development, trainer education, research and development and professional development networks.
