Course description
This programme is designed to offer a flexible Practice Education pathway for those involved in supporting health and social care learners both in practice settings and also in academic settings. It is possible to ‘step off’ or pause after the award of PGCE Practice Education, and also after the award of PgDip in Practice Education.
Career opportunities
The programme incorporates the elements required by Nurses and Midwives who wish to become Community or Specialist Practice Teachers or Nurse/Midwife Teachers (recorded with the Nursing and Midwifery Council). The programme also meets the needs of those Allied Health Professionals who wish to be recognised by their professional bodies.
Typical background of applicant
Typically applicants will be graduates in a health and social care field, a registered health or social care professional, and will be in a post that involves a high proportion of practice education activities.
Additional notes
This programme is linked with the MA Practice Education (Social Work) and most of the units are shared to create an interprofessional learning and teaching experience
