Course description
A number of pathways are accessible within the framework of this award. These are prescribed or individually negotiated and designed to meet students’ individual, professional and personal academic development needs. The course structure is flexible, allowing students to study at their own pace.
Units have a specific clinical focus with strong links with specialist clinical areas such as UCL Hospital, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and St Francis Hospice.
The course aims to ensure that students have sound theoretical evidencebased knowledge to be a competent practitioner in their chosen field.
Career opportunities
Employment prospects are excellent. Successful students frequently attain promotion in their clinical posts.
Typical background of applicant Students are typically qualified staff working in specialist clinical areas at Band Five or Six seeking to expand their clinical and academic skills in a chosen clinical area.

Up to 6 years may be taken to complete from the point of registration. A negotiated shorter time may be possible if suitable, recent and accredited courses are transferred in from other universities in line with the course regulations.
