Course description

This course is for qualified, experienced teachers, who wish to qualify as subject specialists. It leads to a qualification meeting the new Subject Specification requirements and is accredited by LSBU. The units focus on learner characteristics, address subject knowledge and skills, and discuss issues that arise for learning and teaching in these subject areas.

Successful completion leads to the Certificate in Lifelong Learning for Adult ESOL/Literacy/Numeracy Specialists which endorsed by SVUK as an ‘Additional Diploma’.

LLU+ is a national consultancy and professional development centre, which aims to improve the quality of individuals’ education and training to enable them to achieve success. LLU+ works primarily in the areas of literacy, numeracy, dyslexia, family learning and English for speakers of other languages, but also has specialists in learning support, language, maths, the application of learning styles and approaches to teaching and learning. LLU+ offers consultancy and advice, project development, trainer education, research and development and professional development networks.
