Course description
The ADDS courses explore the nature of dyslexia, underpinning theories and research on language processing difficulties and their implications for teaching and learning, diagnosis and developing support. It offers a range of student-centred practical methodology for identifying strengths and difficulties of dyslexic adults with special reference to their cognitive style, as well as a critical analytical approach to using psychometric assessments. The PgDip has been approved by SASC for entitlement to the Practicing Certificate (which is the DIUS recommended accreditation for writing reports for the disabled students’ allowance).
LLU+ is a national consultancy and professional development centre which aims to improve the quality of individuals’ education and training to enable them to achieve success. LLU+ works primarily in the areas of literacy, numeracy, dyslexia, family learning and English for speakers of other languages, but also has specialists in learning support, language, maths, the application of learning styles and approaches to teaching and learning. LLU+ offers organisations consultancy and advice, project development, trainer education, research and development and professional development networks.
