Guinness World Records has announced that toys and games will be the key focus of the company’s global product licens-
ing strategy for the next year.
The announcement comes as the record-keeping company kicks off conversations with toy-
makers seeking to integrate their product activities with the core brand of Guinness World
Records, and recently-appointed UK licensing agent Start Licensing finalizes a new product
style guide with toy concepts and ideas for a wide range of categories including record break-
ing packs, party kits, remote control toys and vehicles, dress up and role play, and stationery.
Beatriz Fernandez, UK Licensing Manager of Guinness World Records, said: “We know that
the combination of entertainment and self-improvement that the Guinness World Records
brand offers is very appealing to both mums and kids, and that the brand’s content and
themes resonate well with the toys and games category for licensees.”
Although Guinness World Records previously focused more narrowly on board games and
puzzles, the company’s new global product licensing strategy incorporates a wide range of
toys and games categories with the ability to bring fans closer to the record breaking experi-
ence.
