The large doctoral community benefits from a strong methodology training programme (contributing to our portfolio of MRes degrees) as well as an active research culture with a regular programme of informal and formal research seminars.


Our impressive building provides three additional high specification lecture theatres and several dedicated group- work areas for our postgraduate teaching as well as an impressive executive teaching suite and hub area where large scale events can take place.


Given our exceptional reputation for research and scholarship, LUMS is increasingly focusing on graduate and doctoral education. Reflecting our commitment to graduate programmes has been the establishment of our Graduate Management School which is a focus for postgraduate teaching and programme development across the School. It is also the home for the School’s cross-disciplinary postgraduate programmes which include the full-time MBA, the MSc E-Business and Innovation, the MSc in Management, the MSc/LLM in Management and Law, the MSc in Management and Marketing, the MSc in Information Technology, Management and Organisational Change, the MSc in International Business and the PhD in Management, as well as the MPA offered in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.


Faculty We have over 100 full-time faculty staff covering the full range of management subjects with a commitment to high quality and innovative teaching. Our students benefit from the contributions of staff who are researching and undertaking specialist teaching at the forefront of their subjects.


We have an exceptional range of both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Among the graduate programmes we currently offer are specialist Masters in Accounting and Financial Management; Advanced Marketing Management; Finance; Human Resource and Knowledge Management; Leadership for Sustainability; Logistics and Supply Chain Management; Management and Consulting; Management Learning and Leadership; Management Science and Market Analysis; Money, Banking and Finance; Operational Research and Management Science; Project Management; Quantitative Finance. In addition, we offer prestigious AMBA recognised open entry full-time and part-time Executive MBA programmes and an MSc/PgDip in Management for recent graduates.


The Graduate Management School encompasses over 1000 students on 30 different postgraduate programmes including 450 plus on Specialist Masters, over 100 on MBAs


The Management Development Division designs and delivers quality development and educational programmes for senior executives and practising managers. These include the Executive MBA, the International Masters and a range of other programmes. These programmes are supported by a wide range of organisations, including Airbus UK, Alcan, BAE SYSTEMS, BNFL, Fujitsu, the Hanson Group, the Health Foundation, LG, Matsushita, Motorola, National Housing Federation, Royal Sun Alliance, Total and UKAEA. The Division has developed strategic partnerships with the FE Sector through the Centre for Excellence in Leadership as well as with Ashridge, Cranfield, Franklin Covey and a range of consulting companies.

The Lancaster Leadership Centre is a world-class focus for leadership and enterprise studies and their development. Launched in 2005, the Centre already houses the largest and highest ranked community of leadership scholars in Europe, led by seven professors. The community also includes a large and rapidly growing network of leadership and enterprise practitioners. The Centre is housed in a state-of-the-art building, co-funded with the North West Development Agency (NWDA) which provides enhanced postgraduate and executive education facilities.


We also maintain strong links with manufacturing, services and public authorities through collaborative research, in- company projects undertaken by our students, post- experience teaching and, of course, the achievement of our alumni.


We have strong international links with networks of top west European business schools, and with leading researchers in North America, Asia and Australasia. These links have been reinforced by our prestigious International Masters programme taught collaboratively by leading staff at McGill University, Institute of Management (Bangalore, India) and Lancaster. In addition, we have a Lancaster Centre for Management in China which builds on long- standing research and teaching links with the PRC.
