CETAD is a specialist work based learning centre within the School of Health and Medicine. Since 1990 we’ve been providing high quality work based learning programmes. All our courses are designed and delivered to suit the needs of the learners and the organisation.
We offer courses in a range of areas including Professional Development, Leadership and Management Development, Learning and Development, Advice and Guidance, and Working with Children and Young People. TAUGHT COURSES
MA in Developing Professional Practice MA in Developing Professional Practice (Health Care)
Director of Studies: Lesley Mayne. Duration: 24 months part-time. Entry Requirements: At least an honours degree (or successful experience of level 6 study in the last 5 years), or its equivalent, plus at least 3 years relevant work experience. If you do not meet these entry requirements you may still be able to apply on the basis of line manager recommendation, interview and 1,000 word critique of a set journal article. We also offer accreditation of prior certificated learning (APCL) so if you hold a relevant postgraduate certificate then contact us for further details. Assessment: There are no exams. Coursework assignments are varied and are designed to be useful for your work as well as for academic assessment purposes. They include learning contracts, project proposals, reports, reflective commentary and oral presentation. IELTS: 6.5 Funding: Please see page 213. Further Information:

The aim of both of these programmes is to enhance your understanding of change theories and increase your ability to apply this knowledge to real work issues. The focus in year one is on the drivers for organisational change, strategies for implementing change and the evaluation of change.
These programmes are structured around five taught modules: three in year one, two in year two including the written submission of a work-based project. Online materials are used plus 17 day-long sessions at Lancaster University (or your workplace for cohorts from the same organisation).
Completion of part 1 can lead to a Postgraduate Certificate in Organisational Change, or can lead onto part 2.
