Humanities
Heritage encompasses a broad range of subject areas from
history, archaeology and environmental science to literature and
folklore. The undergraduate courses offer a comprehensive
training in the heritage concept through a varied sequence of
modules. The Department’s approach to heritage is guided by
current best practice in the sector as seen in museums, heritage
centres, conservation programmes and research. The academic
programme also provides a forum for critical reflection on the
heritage concept as it relates to issues of identity, diversity and
pluralism.
