Automation and Control, Engineering Design, Heat Transfer, Advanced
Manufacturing Processes, Project Management, Numerical and Programming, and
Problem Solving. You may choose between Work Placement or Project.
Career Opportunities
Our graduates work in product and process design, medical device engineering,
electronic component manufacturing, facilities engineering and maintenance
engineering. Some of our graduates find excellent careers in technical sales and
customer servicing.
Other Essential Information
Students may still opt to graduate with a Higher Certificate in Mechanical
Engineering after completing year 2. Graduates are eligible to apply for associate
membership of the Institute of Engineers of Ireland.
Follow-on Studies
Graduate may apply for the honours degree level (Level 8) B. Eng. Honours in
Mechanical Engineering at GMIT or in other institutuins.
