Finding the right title
The German company LeserAuskunft GmbH is currently testing a sys-
tem called PresseTerminal as a service for customers and in support of
newsstands. Publishing International spoke with Ulla Strauss, the CEO
of the company.
What can the customer expect when entering a shop with Presse-
Terminal?
The customer will find PresseTerminal’s digital consultation and sales as-
sistant near the magazine rack. Magazines are quickly and easily found
via Touchscreen – the contents of the magazines are also searched, i.e.,
all titles are retrieved that discuss, for example, binoculars. PresseTer- PresseTerminal
minal then shows the location of the magazine in the shop, forwards
information to the magazine by e-mail, or accepts orders for magazines
that are unavailable.
To what extent can one search the contents/subjects of the most
recent issues?
PresseTerminal offers a full-text search, where all titles that contain Ulla Strauss
