light fast pigments in ten different colours, so that fading and discolouration are avoided.

The end result is a coating that hides defects and cracks, insulates the walls, protects against mould, UV Rays, algae and acid rain, and stays looking good.

EPS Coatings, which was first established in Jersey in 1993, has transformed many island properties throughout the Channel Islands including more than 1300 in Jersey. As a local company using local labour, EPS know the importance of a good reputation and have numerous customer recommendations, confirming their

commitment to their customers before, during and after their property has been completed.

After the surface is pressure washed, prepared and primed, their trained staff use specialist spraying equipment to apply Protex to the walls of the building at up to 1000 lbs of pressure. There is minimum disruption and the coating can be applied in either hot or cold weather. It’s rain resistant within 30 minutes of application, so there’s little chance of being caught out by a sudden shower.

Once applied, it’s long lasting and durable. However under normal conditions Protex will protect a property for many

years without the need for redecorating every few years. In fact EPS provide a 15-year guarantee depending on the type of coating chosen.

WHAT IS PROTEX? Protex are resin based coatings which provide a long lasting barrier to water and mildew. One of the most popular coatings, Protex Textured is a combination of resins, minerals, oxides, titanium and zinc which, when applied by high-pressure equipment, literally welds to the wall creating an impenetrable barrier. It’s available in a wide range of colours and textures, ranging from fine to coarse.

CLEARSHIELD Now for those exposed granite properties where penetrating damp is an issue, Clearshield fills the pores with a water resistant substance, causing the water to ‘bead’ on the surface keeping walls free from saturation. Clearshield will not alter the appearance of the brick/granite or breathing ability of the surface and is not affected by surface abrasion or erosion and lasts for 10 years or more – that’s why we guarantee this for 10 years too.

POWERWASHING Now there’s powerwashing and there’s EPS COATINGS’ powerwashing. The former involves squirting a bit of water over a surface to get rid of the grime. The latter effectively cleans the exterior of your property including facias and soffits with a mild cleaning product in order to remove all

the inevitable daily grime and smog from the surface. This is particularly effective as part of a spring clean so that the house is gleaming and ready for the summer. Even existing customers who have had the Protex System applied can take advantage of a special rate for getting the coating washed down every three or four years so its is sparkling clean.

ROOF GUARD Believe it or not you can extend the life of your Ruberoid/felt roof or tiled or slated roof and have it looking as good as new with Roof Guard from EPS COATINGS. Suitable for use on flat roof systems as well as pitched Roof Guard does what it says on the tin and provides a completely seamless waterproof protection for roofs. Once installed it achieves the highest fire ratings available compared to other roofing membranes, and its excellent thermal and UV stability makes it suitable for use in all climates, even those on our coast where properties get hit with a fair share of adverse weather conditions.

EPS COATINGS prepares the surface of the roof by pressure washing and scrubbing where necessary to remove algae and moss. The whole area is then rinsed and left to dry. Three coats of Roof Guard are then applied. This product also comes with a 10 year product guarantee and during that time EPS COATINGS are happy to return to inspect the area and carry out any repairs which may be necessary.
