Design Fluid wins praise

With the beauty that abounds in Jersey’s countryside and ancient villages such as St. Aubin, it is not surprising that most Islanders want to protect the natural and built environment. This requires a very high standard of planning and attention to detail by experts, such as Fluid Architecture.

Fluid Architecture is a relatively new professional company that has already played a significant role in raising the architectural design standards of many different buildings. They achieve this by looking at building design as an “art form”, which imaginatively considers their clients’ requirements from initial concept right through to final details creating something that’s aesthetically pleasing and also practical.

As the name suggests, ‘Fluid Architecture’ epitomises and strives to create flowing architecture that enhances and improves, is elegant and functional and is appropriate to its context and environment.

Using the latest sophisticated 3D design software, known as

Building Information Modeling, with precision planning Fluid Architecture can present a scheme with life-like attention to detail and realism, so that their clients and Planning can clearly visualize what is intended, from whom they have won much praise and appreciation for their presentations.

Their core business is architecture and they specialise in all the services associated with this discipline to meet the needs of their clients. ‘We define successful architecture as the art of combining space, light and materials in a way that will delight and enrich the lives of our clients and where appropriate the public, by taking into account the building’s context,’ said Mark Fauvel.

Mark formed the Fluid Group in August 2008, not the best time to do so given the banking crash the following month, with Fluid Architecture and Fluid Interiors being the first trading companies within the group. Along with Chris Dunne, who has joined Mark as Associate Director, they have between them over 50 years professional experience in architectural and interior design together with various aspects of property development.

‘We also create added value through careful planning and imaginative use of space, through refined detailing and the thoughtful use of materials, light and colour.
