Trinity Business Alumni | ALUMNI

(...Continued from page 46)

ARE YOU ENJOYING YOUR TIME IN THE TRINITY BUSINESS ALUMNI?

Very much so. It’s been a privilege for me to re-engage with Trinity and to be part of a very talented and motivated committee. We have made some good progress and I think you will hear a lot more from the TBA in the next few years. This year alone, we’ve already signed up some great corporate partners including Accenture, BT, KPMG, The Irish Times, the Irish Stock Exchange, NCB and Ulster Bank who assist us with sponsorship and expertise, and add hugely to our alumni network.

Lecture evenings

This year, TBA hosted two lecture evenings. The first, in Trinity’s new Science Gallery, was entitled ‘The Future of Renewable Energy’ with keynote speaker Eddie O’Connor, former CEO of Airtricity. The evening allowed alumni members to gain an understanding of how renewable sources of energy are paramount to improving and maintaining our country’s energy supply. This was followed up by a lecture on ‘Lean Management’ by David Barnes of First Blue Sky as part of the TBA Leadership and Professional Development Lecture Series.

The TBA also celebrated Women in Business by hosting a motivational evening for its female members with leading Irish business mentor Veronica Canning B.A. (1976). Canning’s keynote speech, ‘You’d be great if you got out of your own way’ inspires women to set personal and professional goals and provides the core elements to achieving these goals.
