DIRECTV FIRST TO LAUNCH THE HISTORY CHANNEL HD
(THC HD) SET TO DEBUT IN SEPTEMBER 2007
The History Channel and DIRECTV�� Inc. has announced that DIRECTV will be the first to launch The History Channel
HD�� a new 24-hour high definition television network�� scheduled to debut in September 2007. In addition�� A&E HD��
which debuted in fourth quarter 2006�� will also launch on DIRECTV in September. The announcement was made by
David Zagin�� Executive Vice President of Distribution AETN.
The History Channel HD will simulcast the entire The History Channel lineup of original��
non-fiction series and specials. The HD experience will serve to create a new dimension for
the compelling content and powerful storytelling that The History Channel provides. The His-
tory Channel HD will feature a diverse range of programming including hit series Lost Worlds��
Dogfights�� Digging for the Truth�� Cities of the Underworld�� and Mega Disasters�� and the re-
cently announced Ice Road Truckers�� The Universe and Human Weapon as well as thought-
provoking specials such as Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed�� The Lost Book of Nostradamus��
The Hunt for John Wilkes Booth and Stalking Jihad.

DARRAN GARNHAM jOINS KIDz ENTERTAINMENT
Kidz Entertainment has appointed Darran Garnham as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing
for Eastern Europe.
The appointment�� which takes effect in June�� follows the Copenhagen-based company’s recent expan-
sion into Eastern Europe through a merger with EEMC.
Says Kidz director Morten Geschwendtner: “Eastern Europe is going to be an increasingly important
part of our business and we have already signed strategic long-term deals with partners such as HIT
Entertainment and 4Kids. Through our brand management philosophy we want to make all of the
EEMC offices completely focused on sales and marketing. One of Darran’s major roles will be to
manage all of these offices as well as developing relationships with major partners and finding new
acquisitions.”
Darran Garnham joins Kidz Entertainment from 4Kids International where he was Director of In-
ternational Sales. For the past year he has been concentrating on emerging/developing markets in
Eastern Europe and India.
Says Darran: “I am very excited about the new challenge and the opportunity this new role has to
offer in expanding further into emerging markets and acquiring additional properties.”
The merger with EEMC is the latest in a series of expansions for Kidz Entertainment as it moves
towards becoming a fully integrated brand marketing agency.
BEANSTALK ENTER LICENSING
DEAL FOR PELÉ
Beanstalk has recently entered into a business relationship with Prime
Licensing and football’s most revered icon Pelé.
Beanstalk will manage and develop an international licensing programme
that builds upon Pelé’s status as an iconic sportsman and his passion and
contribution to the “beautiful game.”
Part t of of the the revenues ues achieved ed through ough the the programme�� selling selling Pelé elé
branded products�� will be destined to social projects and programmes
developed by the Pelé Institute.
The Pelé institute is associated to “Pequeno Príncipe” Hospital that has
been helping sick children and teenagers in Brazil for over 86 years.
