Hammondsfit furniture to fit the spaceand the budget

Hammonds Fitted Furniture has entered a new chapter in its long history, and is alive and well and prospering at Cheapside.

The fitted furniture business was a branch of Hammonds Furniture Limited, which has been trading in the UK since 1926, but it is now being run by Alan Berry, who has many years experience in the industry.

He actually started out in another island, as a designer for the independent Hammonds retailer in the Isle of Man in 1990, but moved to Jersey in 2005, becoming business development manager in the Jersey store in 2009.

Hammonds resumed responsibility for the business when the former independent retailer, who had managed the business for 20 years, decided to retire and return to New Zealand.

‘In September 2011, I was given the opportunity to purchase the Jersey side of the business and

run it as an independent Hammonds Retailer which I accepted happily. I am really excited about the new changes, because I want to be able to offer a local service to local people whose requirements and expectations are different to that of the hard sell UK market.’

Alan sees the Cheapside address as a good location for the store because the area is being rejuvenated after being neglected for some time, and new businesses are moving in bringing with them potential customers.

‘The studio is undergoing a revamp and we are also adding new displays to give the store a more modern feel while at the same time continuing to show some of the more traditional ranges available’.

‘Whether it’s a large contract, such as a hotel refurbishment or a new development, or just the smallest under stair office area, we have the experienced staff to

fulfil the exact requirements, from concept to completion.’

Hammonds Furniture Ltd. remains a family company after more than 80 years, but although it prides itself on its traditional values of good service and value for money, it provides state of the art products manufactured in its two factories in the UK. As they manufacture over 500 bedrooms and home offices every week, their attention to detail and quality is second to none.

Specialising in fitted bedrooms and home offices in both contemporary and traditional styles, Hammonds offers a range of either hinged or sliding doors, in over 1000 design and colour combinations. Soft closers also come as standard on all robe doors, drawers and cupboards.

This all comes with ten year guarantees and the comfort of knowing that any remedial work or guarantee issues can be dealt with speedily in the UK factories nearby.
