Oman Air happy
to be at Heathrow
OMAN Air has finally secured the slots at
Heathrow that it has been seeking for months,
and will start a daily service to Muscat from the
hub on January 1.
The Heathrow service will replace the carrier’s
daily Gatwick service, with more favourable flight
times, according to chief executive Peter Hill.
He said the move from Gatwick to Heathrow
would be welcomed by customers. He said most
had never been keen on Gatwick.
“For the Middle East market, Gatwick is not
the airport of choice,” he said. Hill added that the
current flight times, which sees the Muscat serv-
ice arrive at Gatwick at 05.40 and depart back to
Oman at 09.40, were not popular.
The Heathrow flights will depart Heathrow at
17.40, arriving in Oman at 08.45, with return legs
leaving at 13.20, arriving at Heathrow at 17.40.
