Establishment of Participation Goals on Projects
All too often, business is driven by a sense of the
“familiar.” It’s common to continue to do business
with the same people. Having goals for participation
helps ensure that general contractors will consider
subcontractors besides those they already know.
OMBD drives home the point to involve the entire
community.
City Contracts Monitored with MBE Goals
During FY 2007, OMBD monitored 198 contracts valued at $100,000 or more.
The City paid prime vendors/contractors $81,803,565.54. Minority contractors
were paid $15,114,849.25, which represents 18.5 percent minority participation on
these contracts.
