Seventeen mobile
As of February 2007, Verizon Wireless customers
in the US can access content from Seventeen
magazine on their Verizon Wireless phones.
With Seventeen Mobile, customers can get the
latest information on health, fashion and
beauty reports, horoscopes, daily tips and daily
'traumas', right in the palms of their hands.
Seventeen Mobile is heavily interactive, with polls,
Q&As and quizzes, and offers Verizon Wireless
customers weekend ideas for movies to see,
books to read and things to do.
Desi Life launched in
Toronto
Canadian company Star Media Group, the
periodicals division of Torstar Corp, has
added an ethnic title to its mix. Desi Life targets
Toronto-area South Asians with hip lifestyle
content. ‘Desi’ is Sanskrit for countrymen and
refers to people from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka
and Bangladesh. The standard-size glossy
bimonthly will have a circulation of 65,000, with
the premier issue debuting in February 2007.
COCKTAIL for girls
in the US
Bauer Publishing USA is preparing to launch
COCKTAIL, the first weekly glossy magazine
designed for women in their early 20s.
COCKTAIL will offer a mix of topics including
relationship advice, fashion and beauty trends,
health and nutrition news, as well as breaking
news stories. Hubert Boehle, president and
CEO of Bauer Publishing, said: “According to
our extensive market research, women in their
early 20s will embrace a new weekly magazine
