Sing In the Holidays!
The San Diego Women’s Chorus presents “WomanSong”
Mission Hills United Church of Christ: December 6th
The San Diego Women’s Chorus is proud to announce its 21st annual
holiday concert entitled, “WomanSong.” This wide-ranging show of songs
written by women composers from various time periods will take place
inside the beautiful Mission Hills United Church of Christ.
SDWC will perform songs both classical and contemporary, while singing
in English, German and Latin. “WomanSong” will be a wonderfully deep pro-
gram featuring joyful and powerful compositions of beautiful music written
by women, particularly from time periods when women composers were
even rarer and less celebrated. It will be a chance for the San Diego Women’s
Chorus and its loyal audience members to recognize women and celebrate
their special music.
Selections will include sacred works such as “Agnus Dei” and “Missa Brevis,”
familiar pieces like “Sister” by Cris Williamson and “Simply Love” by Holly
Near, spiritual songs that celebrate learning to love and accept oneself in the
world like “Arms Open Wide” and “Finding Her Here,” as well as seasonal fa-
vorites including “This Little Light of Mine” and “Some Things for Christmas.”
