visitors can see all the big five at the
Shamwari Game Reserve. But it isn’t just
the array of wildlife that makes South
Africa’s Eastern Cape an appealing destination.
Its northern section is becoming an
increasingly important game-viewing area
because it is malaria-free.
And that can be a big plus for customers such
as older couples and families who don’t want to
put themselves at risk and are wary of the effects
of medication.
“We have noticed an increase in the number
of travellers wanting to go on safari in a
non-malarial area and the Eastern Cape fits the
bill perfectly, particularly when included in a
tour of the nearby Garden Route,” says John
Knighton, sales manager of African Pride.
