Important Updates
Restricted Area
The High Commission of India London and its Consulates in Birmingham & Edinburgh will now accept and issue restricted area
Permits
permits for Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar only. Applicants are required to complete an additional form for this purpose.
As per the directives of the High Commission of India, London & its Consulates in Birmingham & Edinburgh, all emergency visa
Emergency applications relating to humanitarian grounds will be required to be submitted at any of the IVACs first and then sent to the High
Visas for Commission of India/ Consulates Generals of India for processing. Visa Applicants must enclose documentary evidence such as
Medical/ doctor's letter, death certificate issued by hospital, local municipal body in India etc. to support their applications. Emergency
Death Cases applications outside office hours or on weekends/ holidays will be dealt with directly by the High Commission of India or its
Consulates in Birmingham & Edinburgh.
The third India Visa Application Centre in London is scheduled to open on 30
th
September 2008. Registered Travel Agents in London

will now have the option to submit their applications at IVAC in Hayes in addition to the IVAC in Goswell Road (Please contact IVAC at

Processing Time - Under normal circumstances, most visa applications will take a minimum of 2-3 working days to process. This may vary for specific
visa categories, non-UK passports and certain nationalities, where the turnaround could be as much as 3 weeks. This decision is at the sole discretion
of the High Commission of India and its Consulates.
VF Services (UK) Limited will be responsible only for accepting and processing applications. All applications will continue to be assessed by the High
Commission of India, London and its Consulates General in Edinburgh and Birmingham. Timelines for turnaround of visas are as per the discretion of
the authority.
All visa seekers are recommended to plan their itinerary in advance and keep in mind the timelines for visas as mentioned above.
