Luxury gaming provides return on investment

Slovenia’s Interblock used the recent ICE 2012 event in London to show casino operators that its products can continue to be the top earners.

Interblock’s Tina Ferko was in an upbeat, positive mood at the recent ICE show at Earls Court, London. “The show’s fantastic and it’s been very busy for us,” she explained.

one that we’re from a great country with a great culture. We’re proud of our Sloven- ian roots. We’re happy to say that the existing clients that have visited our stand are happy with what we are pro- viding.” Interblock demonstrated

The luxury

gaming product manufac- turer, which has produced installations in many coun- tries, used boxing champion Dejan Zavec to reinforce the company’s philosophy of ‘Fighting for Revenue’, which was first unveiled at the 2011 G2E in Las Vegas when the firm enlisted the help of heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson. She added: “We want to

take every opportunity to show casino operators that we will be the top earners. We don’t mind telling every-

two brand new products at the ICE show - the G4 Organic Bartop and G4 Organic Live Pulse, with the version displayed at ICE fea- turing 32 connected play stations: Live Pulse is able to link to live baccarat and roulette generators. Both products are from the company’s expanding Organic range. Ferko said: “We want to be

even stronger in our existing 80 jurisdictions, although moving forward and reach- ing new markets is always a goal for us. We’re very strong

in the US, especially now, with launching a new service organisation for all the installed machines which is located in our branch office in Las Vegas. If anything were to go wrong with the machine, we would know about it before the casino. The new service organisation is a key part of communicating with cus- tomers and strengthening customer trust in the Interblock company.” Impeccable after sales

service is essential to Interblock’s brand, not least because it has installations in some very high-profile casinos,

including the

famous Genting-owned Resorts World in New York City, which opened late last year. The casino has taken one of the most popular Interblock products at the

moment, the G4 Organic Island, and currently offers 295 play stations for its cus- tomers. Having made an immediate impact on the casino’s first floor, Interblock now has addi- tional stations positioned on the second floor as well. Ferko also said that Africa

is an exciting new market opening up for Interblock in the future, following on from recent deals with casinos in the United States, Nether- lands, Belgium, France and Spain. “Flexibility towards cus-

tomers is very important,” said Ferko. “Also, players

must be given an easy inter- face as otherwise they can lose interest and move onto something else - or out of the premises. Players must understand what they are playing and how to play it immediately. We’re into our fourth generation of product now, but there are still many of our third generation prod- ucts alive and well in the marketplace. We feel that this level of reliability and durability puts us ahead of the game and the competi- tion.”

Interblock has been in business for 22 years now, growing organically after it

was founded in a garage in Slovenia. The firm now employs 115 people in Slovenia alone in addition to the US, Asia and Australia: across the world it now employs more than 300 people. Ferko said: “At present,

we’re putting a lot of effort into expanding the US office and looking to expand our team in Macau in the future. We want to increase our sales, but at the same time we want to retain the per- sonal touch with our cus- tomers, as customer always comes first and this is the most important thing for us.”

JPM’s sales and marketing director Simon McCarthy said that JPM had enjoyed its best ever ICE show: “The launch of our new platform using the Quixant QXi-200 PC based gaming controller has opened up huge opportunities, not least in the international casino sector.” The first incarnation of the new platform is Video Max Power, a localised or remote

gaming system featuring exciting player bonus fea- tures. Video Max Power was exhibited in the popular three- machine configuration, topped with an eye-catching TFT bonus display screen. Video Max Power is a multi-

currency system, totally con- figurable to meet local regulatory requirements and player preferences, which has already premiered in the Czech Republic. Plans are in place to launch in a number of markets.

Latvian manufacturer DLV is developing fast, presenting high quality games to the international market in well- designed cabinets, as stand- alone games, multi-games and jackpot systems. The company presented

its brand new jackpot system Gauya Quest at ICE. “Gauya Quest is a mystery

progressive jackpot that can act as a standalone or as a network-based system,” said marketing manager Svetlana Bolatajeva. “It features four mystery progressive levels - Earth, Moon, Sun and Vega, and is compatible with any 15-game multi-game from our Diamond Games Premium series.” She continued: “The idea of the jackpot is based on the adventures of the Latvian explorer Alexander Laime, who discovered the river that feeds Angel Falls waterfall in Venezuela. It’s the world’s highest water- fall with a height of 979m, and he named the river

screen display. It features three progressive levels, Diamond,

Ruby and

The company was also

showing the entire Diamond Games Premium multi-game series, which now numbers six packages. “Each Diamond Games

Premium multi-game offers a mix of 15 of our proven titles with video slot games featuring five, ten or 20 lines, as well as video poker

in some mixes,” said Bolata- jeva. Jewel Jackpot is DLV’s

progressive jackpot system that can act as a standalone or networked-based pro- gressive: up to eight machines can work off one master machine, or with a separate jackpot controller, the excitement can be spread to up to 254 machines with a large-

Emerald with starting levels configurable by the opera- tor. The Jewel Jackpot base machines are all multi- games offering ten titles, all with different game mathe- matics to provide a choice of experience for the player. When the “Jewel Jackpot” symbols appear anywhere on 1st, 3rd and 5th reels in the main game, the Jewel Jackpot bonus game is started, with the player guar- anteed to win one progres- sive level. In the bonus game, the player chooses from 15 jewel boxes, each revealing a hidden jewel hidden. The bonus contin- ues until three diamonds, five rubies or seven emerald jewels are collected and the corresponding jackpot level awarded. The company was also

showing its new cabinets, the Diamond DWS, featur- ing two high-definition 22- inch screen and the elegant slant top version, the Diamond STD.
