gaming terminals integrated into one gaming device, allowing players to bet on two different wheels. One of Karma’s first cus-
tomers was Slovenian gaming group HIT Casinos. Karma was on test for more than four months in HIT’s flagship venue Perla, and exceeded expectations in terms of reliability and revenue.
At the show, Spintec also demonstrated the new Karma Progressive Jackpot System integrated with auto- mated roulette. This can display live video footage of the roulette wheel, winning numbers and statistics. The firm’s general

Review: “The Karma progres- sive jackpot system increases that all-important player linger time. ICE 2012 has been a good show. It’s very important to us - it has ful- filled all expectations and more. Our relationship with Advansys, who have exten- sive experience in gaming and a wealth of knowledge in IT systems, is a winning combination as we produce complementary products.” Lombar revealed that his
firm’s chief aim at the show was to promote the new
jackpot system and that a lot of European and Asian opera- tors had been interested in it. As for the Karma roulette itself, Lombar explained: “It’s fully modular - we can put any number of play stations together which means that the machine can grow with the casino’s needs.” He added that Karma’s
biggest advantage from a player perspective is its ergonomic design, which keeps customers at the machine longer because they are comfortable.
developed over the last decade, Advansys has shared its in-depth know-how of gaming business, industry procedures and regulations and did just that on its busy stand at Earls Court in January. Its software solu- tions integrate the customer needs with specialised know-how, while maintain- ing an innovative approach to new product and services development. Advansys’s products also
boast reliability, scalability and customer support. Even though its products are made to support the most mission- critical casino processes, Advansys builds its sales strat- egy on extremely competi- tive pricing. To this end, the company’s SlotScanner slot management system is cur- rently successfully monitor- ing in excess of 10,000 gaming devices in more than 100 casinos around the world. The firm also pro- duces the table management System TableScanner and its integrated casino manage- ment system FloorScanner.

After reaching the landmark sales figure of one million units for the Cashflow SC last year, MEI was showcasing the latest generation of its flagship note validator at ICE. “The big thing for us at ICE 2012 is our next
generation Cashflow SC Advance,” said marketing director Andrew Reichlin. “The original product was introduced to the gaming space in 2002 and has become our core gaming product. Now, after ten successful years, we decided to take a step back and see what we could do from both a technology and a customer feedback standpoint to improve it even more.”
According to Reichlin, the Cashflow SC Advance
includes a completely new note recognition system to further enhance security. “It is also a lot faster,” he told International Casino Review. “The original Cashflow has historically taken three seconds per note, but the Advance is now 2.3 seconds, roughly 25 per cent faster.
“Importantly, the Advance is fully backwards compatible,” Reichlin added. “With all the enhancements we have made we didn’t change the chassis of the cashbox, so as we bring this in companies can leverage the investment they have made in the past.” Reichlin said MEI would start production of the
Cashflow SC Advance in February and expects to start selling the unit as its core gaming product by the second quarter of the year. The company was also showcasing its four- denomination bank note recycler (BNR) at ICE 2012. The BNR was designed from the ground up to provide all of the cash handling ability of a cashier in an automated system with added security and return on investment benefits. The BNR, with four denomination cash recycling, a
secure loader cassette and a modular design, is an optimal product for self checkout, payment kiosk, QSR and retail payment applications when cash needs to be accepted and dispensed to customers. It provides superior ROI from reductions in float, labour, shrink, cash handling and ownership costs.
