This year’s ICE represented a redefinition of FutureL- ogic to the international gaming market. “Historically, we’ve been
a printer hardware supplier not just to the gaming indus- try but for a whole range of applications,” said EMEA sales and marketing manage Anette Jauch. “Now the company is repositioning itself as a gaming solutions provider. Our focus is now on the gaming market.” The products it supplied to other industries have tended to be highly cus- tomised: in pure business terms, that creates inherent inefficiencies. “By concentrating on the gaming business, it means our products can be market- driven rather than cus- tomer-driven in terms of
research and development,” said Jauch. “Our high stan- dards of sales and service remain - of course - cus- tomer-driven.” A tangible sign of Futur-
Logic’s renewed focus was the release to the market of PromoNet, its intelligent promotional couponing solution, which has been in gestation for some time. “PromoNet is now ready
to go,” said Jauch. “The system can connect machines from most of the large machine suppliers and has GLI and BMM approval.” PromoNet allows promo- tional coupons to be printed at the machine for carded or uncarded players alike and can be linked to triggers based on real-time game metrics, such as spend, loss, length of play, or (for carded players) events such as birthdays and return visits, as well as general promo-

Merkur Gaming, the AWP-to- VLT systems giant, show- cased its full range of new gaming products at ICE 2012, including its latest range of multi-games. “We introduced novelties
for the highly developing segments of the interna- tional gaming markets, including VLT and server- based gaming,” said Rolf Falke, spokesman for the Gauselmann Group sub- sidiary. “Success of our VLT and SBG range of products is guaranteed by the winning combination of well-founded know-how in

this part of the gaming busi- ness and advanced ADP tech- nology alongside Merkur’s huge library of game content.” Merkur exhibited a range of multi-games under the popular umbrella brands of Games Unlimited and Casi- noline, specially designed to offer maximum game diversity for international markets. “The gripping features of our games ensure maximum player satisfaction and cus- tomer-connectivity,” said managing director, Peter Amling. “We are confident that among our great number of games every player can find his or her
tions. The coupon system means that promotions can be customised and highly targeted with the central marketing department using a Microsoft interface able to generate a promo- tional coupon library and set triggers and schedules. Each promotion can also be highly controlled with value limits matched to redemp- tion of the coupons. “We saw huge interest,”
said Jauch. “We already have several installations in the US and we are now lining up field trials for Europe, Latin America and Asia.” In early January FutureL- ogic announced that the system was being installed at Casino MonteLago on the Lake Las Vegas in Hender- son, Nevada, adding to the installation at South Point Casino in Las Vegas, where the field trial took place that led to Nevada Gaming Board

approval in November. The company also
launched a brand new product bringing ticketing technology to the AWP market called Ticket2Go. “We’ve taken our innova- tions and developments in the casino and VLT sector into the street market,” said Jauch. “It’s a very cost sensi- tive market but as prize levels have gone up, it’s led to much higher levels of hopper starvation. That means machines sit idle until someone comes along and refills it, which is costly in itself but more impor- tantly, it means the machine isn’t earning.” Ticket2Go is network- free solution that uses the

machine’s own power to encode a payout on to a 2D barcode ticket that is double encrypted, the same as a bank card. Coins go straight to the coin box and payout tickets are redeemed at the till. It can be used on any gaming machine with the ccTalk hopper protocol. The company also announced that Laurent Gaubout, who has been in the gaming industry for 19 years firstly with Bourgogne et Grasset and GPI, then with WMS Gaming, will be the agent for FutureLogic in France, Monaco and French- speaking Switzerland. “I’m very excited to have been selected by Future- Logic to represent their
products,” said Laurent Gaubout. “I have always regarded FutureLogic as the leading company for ticket printers and I’m proud to represent them in my home market. And now with the PromoNet solution being launched in Europe, I have a very beneficial product in my portfolio to offer casinos in this region.” Jauch added: “We have identified France, Monaco and Switzerland as impor- tant growth opportunities for FutureLogic and are very pleased to have Laurent join the FutureLogic team. His expertise will strengthen our sales presence in one of the most important gaming markets in Europe,”
