Slovenia’s Alfastreet again took up an impressive stand in Earls Court 2 at ICE. The firm’s Albert Radman explained the philosophy behind its position: “We’re one of the top brands in the automated roulette sector and we have to maintain our image. In terms of overall budget spent on exhibiting at ICE, let’s say we’ve spared no cost as the show is very important to us. “We were very busy in the build- up to ICE. Our brand is quite famous, so most of our customers, investors and operators deliber- ately sought out our products. They come to the stand to find out what’s
new and how we can help them.” One of Alfastreet’s innovations
for 2012 is a virtual horse racing game entitled The Derby, which Radman described as an exciting new addition to Alfastreet’s palette of games. “It can be used in combi- nation with any of our terminals,” he explained. Alfastreet has already sold the
new game into a casino in Asia and the opportunities to sell more look very promising. “The London show is not about
any specific markets - it’s more about meeting up with people, expanding our business around the world and catching up with our existing clientele. In addition to the G2E in Las Vegas, this is our
best opportunity to do all those things.” Alfastreet has been in the casino market for 16 years already: a fact
that underlines its success and the reliability of its products is that many of its customers have done business with it for 15 years. “It

Shang Yang Industrial Company of Taiwan has been involved in the casino and gaming hardware sector since 1975, supplying a wide range of prod- ucts - from hoppers to motors - to world markets. New for 2012 is the VHL hopper. Showcased at ICE, the VHL is pegged as
the only compact style hopper avail- able for dispensing very large coins and gaming tokens. It is able to handle large 39mm casino tokens and is reliably proven with a 100 per cent success rate in the most demanding of environ- ments. The VHL, which includes an easy-to-
remove coin cup for simple cleaning and DC controller, joins Shang Yang’s full range of products for the gaming
industry, including the 600 series, which has a dispensing speed of 650 units per minute, and the industry standard 760 series of hoppers. The 760 remains the Kaohsiung-
based group’s most successful item adopted by many casinos in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Smooth disc rotation ensures stable coin payout, and the hopper’s performance has been praised around the world, Shang Yang said.

With over 30 years of gaming experience, Matsui is regarded as one of the leading gaming chip and casino equipment suppliers. New from the group at ICE 2012 were the company’s four-colour injection- moulded casino chips. Designed for optimum secu- rity, the attractive chips are available in 40mm and 43mm moulds.
“The show has been really
busy for all of us here,” said Dave Holt, managing director of Matsui Europe. “We have had a great response from people across Europe, and particularly our regular clients in the UK.
“In addition to promoting our full range of casino equip- ment, we have also been telling clients about our newly upgraded website,” Holt added. “It includes a new, user-friendly chip design tool, where clients can create their own chips from a full range of moulds and colours.”

goes far beyond a business rela- tionship with such customers, however, as we make every effort to get to know them personally in order to provide them with the precise products and services they need.”
Radman said Alfastreet’s strat-
egy for its products has always been to deliver simplicity and reli- ability to both the operator and the player. “Customers come back to us and tell us that our products are unbelievably rugged and that they never malfunction. For us, this is the right way to go. The fun- damental aim is to ensure that the machine works. This fact notwith- standing, we have supportive teams all over the world either as representatives of the company or our own employees.” Alfastreet’s products are manu-
factured with as few components as possible so that its machines operate at optimum efficiency with downtime kept to a minimum. Radman believes that there simply aren’t that many markets left that the firm hasn’t made inroads into. “Asia has been the best market for us in the last few years. We did our homework and tried to understand that market and now we sell a lot of our products over there. It’s our main focus at present and I predict that this will be the case for the next few years, as we don’t see any short- age of orders. Having said that, we’re more than happy with the amount of business we’re doing in South America, Europe and North America.”
