Networking party time at WMS
Linked gaming was the theme on the WMS Gaming stand, with products to connect off- and online operations, progressives that connect machines locally or over a wide area and games that connect players to each other and to great experiences.

Headlining WMS Gaming’s product offering at ICE was Jackpot Party, an online solution that the company is aiming squarely not just at pure internet operators but also at land- based casinos. “It’s a business-to-business solu- tion that will help casinos launch an online channel either for fun or, where licensed, for pay to play,” said Candace Lucas, executive director for marketing. “We’ve been operat- ing for a year already in the UK - and it was just designated Highly Com- mended in the Slots Operator of the Year category of the eGaming Review Awards.”
The Jackpot Party platform fea-
tures a fully interactive online casino that provides players with exclusive access to a diverse array of WMS premium licensed and proprietary slot games, as well as a number of player-favourite card and table games. Lucas continued: “In addi- tion to its community-building and social features, the platform enables players to enter the Jackpot Party Progressive - the first accumulating online jackpot in the world that can be hit on any game, with any stake, at any time - completely at random.” She added: “We’ve been very conscientious about how we set up the site, with very little WMS brand- ing, to allow operators to own the site for themselves. Our aim is to partner with a casino operator with the focus very much on them. The big advantage for them is that WMS is a company that is hugely trusted not only by players but also by regu- lators.”
For the real-world casino floor, the company was also demonstrat- ing a wide range of its games, some of which were seen at G2E, some of which saw the light for the first time in London.
In the former category is the stun- ning Aladdin & The Magic Quest. “This is the next generation of Sensory Immersion gaming with the WMS motion system chair,” said Lucas. “It’s a fully immersive experi- ence, including 3D graphics, sound and movement, allowing players enjoy an unprecedented experience with motion effects programmed to perfectly align with in-game events.” Powered by the CPU-NXT 3
processor, the game offers players three unique bonus rounds includ- ing a virtual reality magic carpet ride that whizzes them through old Baghdad to face djinns, assassins and a wide range of other exciting

encounters in pursuit of bonuses. A highly fruitful licence for the company has been The Wizard of Oz, which has been seen in several iterations so far. Journey to Oz is the latest and largest to date. “Journey to Oz is an exciting communal slot that is packed with features that players love, including Collaborative Gaming technology, Bose 3Space Surround Sound Gaming Chairs, a Wide Area Progressive and our first 1024-ways base games,” said Lucas. “The excitement kicks into high gear when the Bigger Event bonus triggers and Glinda the Good Witch spins the large community wheel on dual 52-inch overhead screens, rewarding credits or one of five special character bonuses.”
Another big licence is Monopoly. The new Monopoly Party Train expands on successful features from previous versions and adds new features. Available in mechanical and video base game versions, the Party Train theme introduces the Move Feature that can randomly take players around the Monopoly board for free spin enhancements, bonus triggers and more. The Free Spin Bonus offers extra spins, two Wild reels, extra dice rolls or higher available multipliers, depending on the players’ location around the board. Epic Monopoly, which is avail- able on the premium standalone Super Multi-Pay series, adds a Monopoly theme mega bonus and a spinning wheel bonus selector. Special symbols, Wild reels and multipliers replicate from the main reel set to three smaller reel sets in base game play and when the bonus is triggered, players can spin the Epic Wheel for credit awards, free spins or the Around the Board bonus.
Another board game has inspired attractive games is Battleship. In the large Team Compete to Win version, randomly triggered com- munal bonuses play out on three overhead screens, pitting Team Blue against Team Red in one of three communal battles to sink the most ships for additional bonus rewards. It is also available in stand- alone versions, Commanding Officer and Periscope Pays with five-reel video or Transmissive Reels base games of 20, 30 and 40 lines. Commanding Officer offers a picking bonus that mimics the board

“One of our most popular local area progressive brands on the international market is Life of Luxury,” said Lucas. “We are now presenting Life of Luxury Deluxe, which features a local area progressive free spin bonus that is randomly triggered during stand G+ Deluxe and G+ Deluxe 5x4 base game-play. Precious stones appearing during any of the ten free spins trigger a picking bonus for the corresponding pro- gressive, with increased odds for those betting more for picking the progressive prize. Players can win up to five times the top progressive award and win multiple progres- sives on just one spin.”
The second instalment of the epic adventure The Lord of Rings was launched in Europe with The Two Towers picking up where The Fel- lowship of the Ring left off. It gives players the opportunity to explore the second movie in the award- winning trilogy as they earn miles and unlock bonus content along the way. Using WMS’s Cloud-based Player’s Life Web Services applica- tions, which add an online dimen- sion to game content on the casino floor and encourage players to return again and again, this new game features the player-activated Power Spin free spin four all-new

bonus rounds. Control of game-play is a hot new theme throughout the industry: in Mega Multiplier: Super Shot, using WMS’s own Portal Applications technology, randomly awarded credits in the base game can be stored and used to trigger the top box Super Shot game, which launches a virtual pinball into the top screen for a chance to multiply stored credits by up to 100 times. Another Portal Applications game is Winner’s Share: Peng-Wins, which gives players the chance to win up to double the jackpot award. Peng- Wins is the first in the Winner’s Share series and offers a secondary bonus opportunity on top of many WMS games, whether video or mechani- cal. When the bonus is randomly
is randomly awarded one of four progressive awards. Two themes are available Jackpot Explosion and Piggy Bankin’, each complete with unique visual and audio ele- ments for increased variety on your casino floor.
Colossal Reels is a strand worth watching. Specially designed for players who prefer higher volatility games, it features two sets of video reels, one set in a traditional 5x4 format, and one in 5x12. The two sets interface to offer up to 100 lines of play. Wild reels on the smaller set are transferred across to the large set and expand to fill all 12 symbols in the Colossal Reels set. There are now four game themes in the strand: Forbidden Dragons, Van Helsing, Li’l Red and Spartacus. “It’s been released in the US market for several months now and it’s doing phenomenally well,” said Lucas.
