The proven mark of quality

Having just been awarded ISO accreditation for its processes, Abbiati was riding high with a full and wide range of its table gaming products, packed with new technology and stamped with Italian design.

trackingsuccess ABBIATI

“This has been the best show for years,” Abbiati’s Reda Seil- iute told International Casino Review. “We’ve had a lot of enquiries from new and existing clients from all over the world, people who are serious about doing busi- ness and are asking for important quotes as well as confirmed orders.” Abbiati’s good show comes on top of a number of items of positive news from the company:

it

recently obtained ISO 9001:2008 for its manage- ment procedures and got GLI 25 approval for its live roulette wheel featuring laser technology. Just before G2E last October it got Nevada Gaming Board approval for its range of chips, plaques and jetons. ISO 9001:2008 means the company is demonstrating that it consistently meets customer and regulatory requirements and that it is constantly improving its

processes to further that aim.

“We’ve had the ISO

accreditation since the start of January,” said Seiliute. “We’ve been working to those standards for some time but we have now gath- ered all the documentation. One of our most important principles is security throughout our manufactur- ing and other processes - and that is something that has seen a particular empha- sis in our accreditation.” Abbiati was displaying its

huge range of high-end casino equipment at the show, including an Ameri- can roulette table featuring LEDs under the layout that takes input from a laser roulette wheel. Lights track- ing round the edge of the betting area and LEDs mounted in the wheel rim signal no more bets as the ball slows; the winning number and outside bets are lit when the ball comes to rest.

“The LED American roulette can also be linked

to a table management system for winning number displays and wheel analy- sis,” said Seiliute. Abbiati, arguably, now

offers the largest number of different winning number displays of any manufacturer - everything from standard LED towers to the latest in double-sided multi-media displays. A forest of them was visible on the stand. The company was also

showing its TV Poker table, launched last year, which features in-built cameras in the rim that can be con- nected to displays else- where in the casino, generating excitement and involvement in poker tour- naments. “It’s been very successful

so far with installations even in Asian markets,” said Seil- iute. “It’s just casinos buying it for the time being but we’re getting more and more interest from TV companies too.” Poker has been an impor- tant market for Abbiati, which has set up a poker

division headed by a new sales executive to support clients. The company has also launched a dedicated line of poker layouts and playing cards as well as chips and plaques, all able to feature a full range of secu- rity features from UV to RFID, which also enables a whole poker table for instant pot and rake calcula- tion and added hands per hour.

“Interest in the RFID poker table has been growing every year,” said Seil- iute.

Now that the technology has bedded down a bit, it seems as if operators are casting a more favourable eye on RFID-enabled chips and the huge number of important applications they can be used in. The initial capital expenditure might have been beyond what many casinos have felt com- fortable with in the recent difficult years but as economies ease up, the effi- ciencies in addition to the enhanced security features

A focus on ergonomics

RoyalComfort STYLGAME

StylGame of Italy was exhibiting its full line of Royal Stool-branded furniture and accessories for the global casino industry at ICE 2012. With headquarters in Spilim-

bergo, Italy and offices in Spain and Las Vegas, StylGame was dis- playing its new adjustable slot base that is easy to install and adaptable to all gaming machines. The platform height is adjustable for optimal position- ing, providing correct player

posture. In addition, the RH360 base

includes a return-to-centre mech- anism with a clutch that allows the chair to move freely when a player is seated but goes back to the centre when empty. “The show has been going for

us very well so far,” said DeAnna Franklin, managing director of StylGame’s US division, on the second day of the expo. The company’s Royal Stool designs are all modular, with a range of seats and bases that can be mixed and matched in a wide range of upholstery and finishes.

that RFID technology offers are becoming more impor- tant.

“We’ve had a lot of success

in Asia with our RFID chips of course,” said Seiliute, “but we’ve had a lot more inter- est this year and not only from the very large groups but also from smaller opera- tors and even clubs.” Asia has generally been a

strong market for Abbiati’s distinctive design ethos and product quality.

The

company displayed its bean- shaped baccarat table that has been specially designed for that market - and it has recently fulfilled a substan- tial order to Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. The company has also continued to put its Italian stamp on custom designs often for salons privés, something demonstrated at ICE by Russian-style black- jack and American roulette tables with vanilla-coloured tops and bases, highlighted by details in gold-leaf and finished with Swarovski crystals.

Big jackpots, small box

wellfitted BELATRA

The aim of versatile Belaruss- ian gaming machine manu- facturer Belatra is to use its entertaining products and effective operating systems to help casinos increase their profitability. The firm demon- strated a number of new inno- vations on its ICE stand in January, including its latest jackpot server, which it described as ‘small size, big opportunity’.

Housed comfortably in

Belatra’s slender casino slot cabinet, the diminutive jackpot server - known as jPot System - enables games to be played on a tournament basis, pitting players against each other, with operators able to control how often tournament play comes around.

Belatra also demonstrated a neat new gaming platform entitled Multi Vision Plus. It offers players a suite of five distinct video reel games on the cabinet’s welcome screen, with the novel idea that players can choose to play up to four of them simultaneously. Fur- thermore, as each separate game is riddled with bonuses, players can choose when they want to use their bonus awards and how many of them they want to select at the same time. With each game featur- ing 25 win lines, the simulta- neous play element offers an array of options to the player. The company’s head of sales, Vladimir Kalinin, explained: “We pay a lot of attention to the preferences of players from different regions, and to this end we supply the most relevant products for gaming operators to get the best return on their invest- ment. We’ve served the indus- try for 20 years, in which time our equipment has become available for players and oper- ators all over the world. We value every client.”

Also on show at ICE on the Belatra stand was the Multi- plier Game Bank, with two new suites of games - Game Bank 7 and Game Bank 8 - and a new game machine Neostar.
