2012 Report

Stars come out for Novomatic as night falls on Earls Court

Novomatic, which for years has prided itself on having the largest stand at the London Show, released a huge number of new games and technologies for the market, including a stunning new jackpot featuring Marilyn Monroe, upgrades to its most popular platforms and innovative new cabinets.

starstudded NOVOMATIC

Novomatic’s London show got off to a great start even before the doors opened: at the inaugural ICE Totally Gaming Awards, the company was named the year’s Best Manufacturer. In truth, it didn’t need the trophy to prove to itself how well it is doing; despite Europe-wide economic woes, the company reported preliminary results for the year that saw its group turnover top E3bn, a new record for Novomatic. Its games, operators report, are consistently at the top of the performance tables: their popularity with players is matched only by their result- ant popularity with the casinos.

The most eye-catching of the company’s many new products on display was the Marilyn Jackpot, a four-level mystery progressive jackpot that stars the iconic Marilyn Monroe. Glittering glamour and sparkling memories of Hollywood’s unforgettable blonde set the scene (ably assisted at ICE by troupe of Marilyn look-alike perform- ers) for grand jackpot wins. The Marilyn jackpot theme is available for all types of SAS protocol equipped machines, however, it was shown at the show with five themed base games, includ- ing a video poker game, on the Coolfire II platform. With the show taking place during the Chinese new year celebrations, Novo- matic welcomed the Year of the Dragon with an all-new mystery progressive jackpot, Rise of the Dragon. With undoubted appeal to Asian markets but also far beyond, this jackpot too is available for all types of SAS protocol equipped machines.

The company presented

no fewer that 19 new games at ICE featuring a wide range of themes and attractions.

Novomatic’s Max Linden- berg said: “The games are colour-coded for each cate- gory to improve game recog- nition and guest orientation and all games and/or cate- gories are individually selec- table per machine by the operator through a quick and easy operator control. Every game category pro- vides a carefully selected choice of games that cater to different guest preferences - enabling casino operators to optimise their gaming floor. line that quickly enables them to find their favourite type of game.” One of the fast develop- ing categories is server- based gaming in all its forms, from the casino floor to the VLT parlour. Novomatic’s Novo Line system combines all aspects under one brand heading. Novo Line Interac- tive is its stand-alone gaming solution, server-based-ready for a later plug ‘n’ play inter- connection into the Novo Line VLT system. In all, 13 new Novo Line Interactive and Novo Line VLT games were presented at ICE. Novomatic’s Multi-Game

Mix 1 for Novo Line Inter- active/VLT features five cat- egories comprising a total of 25 games. Like the Premium- V+ Gaminator, it allows the operator to group and arrange the games accord- ing to preference. “It’s the ultimate POS

concept for operators to create and control their premium gaming floor,” said Lindenberg. One of the great advan-

tages of server-based gaming is the flexibility it offers operators as well as the con- venience it offers players, no more so that on the Novo Line Novo Unity II platform, which can connect a huge variety of electronic live games and slot games on a virtually unlimited number of individual player stations. This multi-game functional- ity allows the operator to link any chosen number of terminals to different games such as roulette, baccarat, bingo, blackjack, poker and sic bo as well as a great slot games offering within one installation. “Novo Line Novo Unity II

Novo Unity II, the Novomatic electronic roulette range now offers another variation of the traditional game. The special Double

Action

Roulette wheel features two counter-rotating number rings, each with a traditional set of numbers situated in opposing order. Each spin of the wheel generates two winning numbers: one on the inner ring and one on the outer ring. Two identical betting layouts offer tradi- tional betting options on each of the two number rings as well as the unique Double Action bets on com- bined outcomes. Players can choose to bet on matching single chances, dozens, columns, 7 (single zero) or 8 (double zero) numbers or any two identical numbers - with huge odds up to 1,200:1.

The company also

launched a new value-driven upgrade of the Coolfire I plat- form called Coolfire 1+. It is designed to optimise the performance of the Gamina- tor cabinet with a sophisti- cated choice of new and classic AGI games, enhanced graphics and improved usability. The platform aims

to provide state-of-the art gaming content through the growing choice of Ultimate 10 multi-game mixes at a price accessible to opera- tors of any size in any market. Novomatic is renowned almost as much for its cabinet designs as for its games. It presented two new cabinets at the show, includ- ing the Novo Line Curve, which features a special curved monitor for a reel display that offers an authen- tic ‘reel feel’. The cabinet supports a growing number of video slot single games of which the first nine were presented at ICE and included established clas- sics such as Book of Ra deluxe and Lucky Lady’s Charm deluxe. It also presented the Super-V+ Gaminator III and Novo Line Interactive cabinet, which offers next generation cabinet technol- ogy for the top performing Novomatic gaming plat- forms and systems, Coolfire II and Novo Line. It features extra wide screens for an in- depth gaming experience, elegant style and top quality design to make the cabinets an attractive prospect on every casino floor.
