JOHN GALLIANO

“With every revolution comes planning and as much as the fantasy you have to lay careful foundations from the very beginning. Listen as you wish to be listened to: be ready for every and any opportunity: and look and learn from those that have succeeded as well as those you admired that have vanished on the way.

Live your dreams with reality, determination, and originality. Build an

army around you and the adventure is yours for the taking.” (Copyright Peter Lindbergh)

KIM JONES “A - Be yourself and be brave, a calculated risk will never hurt!

B - Work hard and don’t expect instant rewards - if you want to work with a stylist or other people there’s no harm, a second opinion can give you more confidence, such as a good PR. The other key person is a great sales agent. Hard thing to find but there are several and it’s really worth it as they can progress your career beyond press and make your company financially secure.

C - If you want a serious business it’s good to consult for established companies not only for the money but for the experience and contacts. You learn so much working with other people and companies and it helps you get different perspectives of the industry.”

MARIOS SCHWAB

“The most important things I have learnt in my career so far are that you must be very organised, and you need to carefully balance the business side and the creative side. Find the parts of the business you like and focus on them and for the other things, make sure you find the right people to work with you.

You just can’t do everything yourself.

Although learning about the business aspects of the fashion remember to remain true to your creativity.

This is what fashion is about. It should move forward. It’s an evolution. You also need to be very aware of what women want to wear. How does a women move? What does she aspire to? What does she want to feel attached to? What emotions does she feel at the moment?

You need to see lots of things, touch lots of things-like textures, to expand your vision and help you to become highly versatile.”
