3 Colour
Combination
Why do it?
• To encourage communication when passing
• To develop vision and decision making
How to do it?
• In a set area players are divided into 3 different colours
• If they pass to their own colour they play a ‘one-two’
• If they pass to another colour they tell the player to ‘turn’
Don’t just copy it, improve it
• Introduce the call ‘man on’. When receiving this call the receiving player is not
allowed to pass to their own colour or the colour that passed the ball to them
• Introduce the call ‘overlap’
• Begin with the players throwing and catching the ball before progressing to playing
with their feet.
