3-2-1
points for goals
Why do it?
• To include all players in goal scoring opportunities
• To encourage players to pick out other players with their final pass
• To encourage communication and tactics within a game
How to do it?
• A normal small sided game with the following rules
• All individual players’ first goal is worth 3 goals for their team
• If that individual scores a second goal it is worth 2 goals
• Any further goal scored by that player is worth 1
Don’t just copy it, improve it
• Play to a set number of goals (e.g. which is the first team to score 20 ‘goals’)
• Allow players a ‘time out’ after a goal to rearrange their formation and positions
