DIRAK offers compression of 10-12mm
The DIRAK 1-081SL Compression Latch offers a compression range of up to 12mm, which
DIRAK says is significantly greater than other compression latches on the market today.
The compression range can be modified depending on the length of the cam.
Standard cam heights are 22 and 28mm with other cams available upon request.
The innovative use of a planetary gear for actuation gives compression at extremely low torque
whilst ensuring strength and durability. The use of a roller at the end of the cam minimises scrape
damage to panels often caused by traditional cams, and also reduces the required closing force.
In addition, the 1-081SL Compression Latch incorporates two of DIRAK’s innovative technologies,
D-SNAP Technology and Design Symmetry. D-SNAP Technology provides fast and simple
installation without hardware or tools. All components of the latch are pre-assembled making
installation into sandwich type panels easily accomplished from the front of the panel.
Design Symmetry allows the same latch to be installed on both right- and left-hand doors. The
180° rotation range of the cam eliminates the need to re-install for a rotation of door to/from
right- and left-hand doors giving flexibility in applications and reducing inventory.
The latch can be actuated with standard inserts, double bit 3 and 5mm and square 8mm with
others available on request. The latch

KOBSERT
®
is the answer
Bollhoff Fastenings Ltd has introduced the KOBSERT® thread insert, a one-piece,
high-performance threaded insert for mounting high strength, durable internal
threads deep into low shear strength metals such as aluminium or magnesium
alloys.
The KOBSERT® has a resistance to high torque loading and vibration, and maintains
joint integrity throughout the range of M6 to M30 screw thread assemblies. Variants
are also available with a heat resistant underhead ring, to seal against gas or fluid
pressures.
KOBSERT® thread inserts are installed from only one side of the work piece, into a
pilot hole within the component. On setting, the external thread form is driven down
into the softer host material and the serrated flange bites into the surface to form a
flush finish and resists any possibility of rotation or backing-out under dynamic load or
extreme temperature. A thread anchorage is thus achieved without the need for
additional locking pins or adhesives. KOBSERT® can also be used in any rectification or
maintenance process which may arise from damage to threads initially produced by
other means.
