UAC, a leading manufacturer of cellulose
cement boards, wanted for its new office
located in Mutiara Damansara. right from
the get-go, the design team put great
emphasis on creating an uncluttered
space, while keeping in line with the
corporate culture. The trick, however, was
to achieve this without compromising aesthetics.
To this end, the team adopted an open concept floor plan. One
of the first things visitors notice about the new office is its
almost fluid design. In fact, the company decided to do away
with an entrance, so the office begins as soon as one steps
out of the elevator. This works well for UAC as it occupies the
entire floor.
A similar fluidity is carried through to the rest of the space,
with inspired design elements to raise the style quotient.
The Italian marble walls at the reception are an example.
Another is the carpets, which help to demarcate the various
areas in the office. InterfaceFlOr’s Oblique™ range was
chosen not only for its wide ranging eye-catching designs but
also for its dense construction. The carpet is extremely easy
to upkeep – which was a key consideration for the company.
