ne would be hard pressed to imagine a
finance office that is corporate in design
yet instead of being stiff and cold, exudes
an ambience that is spacious, peaceful
and comfortable.
That paradox somehow manages to sit
comfortably in the banking office of Scope
International (M) Sdn Bhd. To reflect the firm’s professionalism,
a simple, no-frills modern interior was the design mandate. One
may also attribute the positive vibes to the feng shui-based
choice of carpet, Elements™, which sets the overall tone with
its soothing, understated design.
Apart from compliance with bank design guidelines plus safety
and health issues, Scope International wanted elements of its
corporate identity integrated into the design.
On top of that, the environment was also a main concern. The
management considered not only the quality and durability
of products used, but other factors like easy maintenance
and energy savings, and was encouraged to use sustainable
products such as Leadership in Energy and Enviromental Design
(LEED) certified lighting, and environmentally friendly laminates
