ew corporate spaces are able to cleverly
balance diametrically opposing ideas and
designs. In this distinction, the Cushman
& Wakefield office in Beijing, China,
stands out. located in Tower 1 of China
Central Place, the new office represents
an exciting and functional space for both
staff and visiting clients. The focal point
of the office is an integrated space in the “front of the house”
made up of the reception area, client waiting area, pantry and
meeting room. according to the interior designers, m. moser
Beijing, the idea was to open up the integrated space for various
purposes like cocktail receptions, small press conferences, as
well as formal and informal client meetings.
To integrate the meeting room into this multi-functional space,
revolving doors are used to allow easy access. The dynamics
of Broadway™, with its strikingly bold combination of linear
and geometric patterns, extending from the waiting area to
the meeting room, also invites people to use this space during
social gatherings.
a myriad of geometric blocks, architectural elements, natural
colours and materials is applied throughout the client area and
the pantry, often in careful juxtaposition, to achieve an East-
West, calmness-meets-excitement, and sophistication-meets-
modernism ambience.
Wanting to forge greater team spirit, m. moser designed the
workspace as an open plan with a state-of-the-art configuration,
using bench-type workstations. The concept originates from
a large table around where team members can sit in groups
to achieve better communication. Each formal meeting room
has a symbolic theme in reference to popular landmarks in
Beijing: the forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, the Great Products
Wall, and Zhong Nan Hai. These names are engraved on the
Broadway™/Comedy
Vista™/Scope
door using traditional Chinese stamp carvings. The themes
are reinforced inside the rooms by visual echoes – graphics
