especially with custom designed Axminster car-
pets, will benefit greatly from being able to offer
this service. Axminster carpets in both natural
wool fibres and nylon offer the optimum choice
for colour and design creativity, particularly with
the use of electronic jacquard machines, where
design capabilities are endless.
‘In summary the manufacturer who can provide
all these machinery options is in the best position
to be able to offer total floor covering solutions to
specifiers, matching each specific area require-
ment with accuracy. A bespoke project provides
a personalised space for the end user, creative
flexibility for the architect or designer and a
prestigious reference for the installing flooring
contractor.’
Many big name brands take advantage of
bespoke carpeting as it helps to create a flooring
that differs from everything else on the market.
Coveted fashion house Gucci has once again
turned to Ryalux to fit out the bespoke Gucci stand
at the Mashref Watch and Jewellery Exhibition in
Kuwait this Spring.
Ryalux will be supplying Gucci with carpet from
one of its most popular luxury collections, Period
Velvet. Carpets in the collection have a soft velvet
finish, are crafted in two durable weights, and
reinforced with ScotchgardTM protector. Period
Velvet is therefore ideal for visitors to the Gucci
stand, with its beautiful appearance perfectly in
keeping with this high profile fashion brand.
In November 2007, Ryalux provided Gucci with
a custom made carpet from the Ultimate Living
Collection for its watch stand at the world famous
Galeries Lafayette on Boulevard Haussmann
in Paris. Gucci took advantage of Ryalux’s ‘any
width up to seven-m’ service by ordering a seven
x six-m carpet in a rich charcoal colour created
especially for Gucci through Ryalux’s exclusive
colour match service. For the Kuwait exhibition,
Gucci has opted for a 12m x four-m piece in an
80% New Zealand wool mix in Jasper Silver.
Advances in tufting and backing technology
have meant that since August 2007 a number of
Ryalux ranges have been available in any width
up to seven-m, thereby eliminating the need for
unsightly seams. The Ultimate Living Collection,
Ryasilk Twist, Ryatwist Colour Collection and
Ryasax Collection offer a wide selection of quali-
ties that can be supplied in any colour chosen by
the customer, as well as benefiting from Ryalux’s
industry-leading extra wide service.
Tim Brown, Ryalux’s brand manager, said:
‘That a client so design-centric as Gucci has
approached us yet again to provide it’s carpet is
testimony to Ryalux’s reputation for producing the
finest quality floorcoverings. What’s more, Gucci
specifically requested a Ryalux carpet for this
exhibition - which is a huge compliment.’
Worldwide brands such as fashion houses,
restaurant chains and football clubs often seek
less of the traditional and more of the uniquely
tailored and when Premiership Football Club
