the end result perfectly meets the design brief.’
Appearance is crucial when considering office
sector flooring and for commercial law firm,
BrookStreet des Roches LLP, the look and feel
of the floor was of major significance when it
refurbished it’s head office in Oxfordshire.
To complement the modern and sleek interior,
Tessera carpet tiles from Bonar floors were used
throughout the key areas of the building.
The project design team responsible for over-
seeing the project, specified Alignment carpet
tiles from the Tessera collection. In the reception,
where making the right impression is especially
important, Alignment Horizon on SOFTbac was
laid within a marble border, creating a contrast
between the plush carpet tiles and polished
flooring. Installed by flooring contractor, Butler
Cox, Alignment was laid broadloom providing an
impressive monolothic look that adds hints of
luxury and sophistication.
Alignment was also used in the company’s
meeting rooms. The multi-height loops of the car-
pet tiles combined with the intersecting random
blocks of rich cut pile has lent a distinct, individual
look to each space.
Tessera’s hard-wearing Optimum Create loop
pile tiles were installed in the main office for a
practical and attractive flooring solution. Offering

a textured effect for the large, open-plan area, it
is manufactured from 100% solution dyed Antron
Invista yarn. The tiles are extremely durable and
maintain their structured appearance in such
a demanding environment where frequent and
heavy footfall is unavoidable.
Alignment is available in a choice of nine
urban-inspired colours, comes with a 10 year
guarantee which is extend to 15 if supplied with
SOFTbac secondary backing, and is designed to
provide additional underfoot comfort, perform-
ance longevity and improved thermal and sound
insulation.
The project manager commented on the deci-
sion to use Tessera: ‘For any business, getting the
reception area looking just right is crucial as it
sets the tone for the interior beyond and it says a
lot about a company’s personality and work ethic.
‘With BrookStreet des Roches we really want-
ed to create the impression that it is a modern,
professional business that believes in delivering
high standards. The use of Tessera in Alignment
helped bring a modern twist to the reception area
and with SOFTbac secondary backing, the tiles
are plush and aesthetically luxurious.’
Dee Garrett, area sales manager from Tessera,
said: ‘Alignment is ideal for making a bold
statement in both open-plan interiors and more
enclosed spaces. The BrookStreet office has re-
ally demonstrated just how versatile the tiles can
be, offering a very different looking floor without
sacrificing performance or durability.’
