brightly colored sculpture from structural
steel .

During the month of February, visitors to
the Canton website had a chance to cast
a vote for their favorite piece of Public Art
along Canton’s Ford Road . The sculpture
that received the most votes was “Ma-
tisse in Blue” by Mike Sohikian, located in
front of Target .
The Canton Downtown Development Authority (DDA), in partnership with the Canton Cultural
Commission’s Public Art Committee, has commissioned the Midwest Sculpture Initiative to install
eleven pieces of art in a new temporary exhibit along Canton’s Ford Road, on display now until Au-
gust 2008. The outdoor sculptures are on display at various locations, including: Canton Cinema;
Griffin Funeral Home; Home Depot; IKEA; New Towne Center; Target, and Willow Creek Plaza.
