Feature wallcoverings set the scene
DIGITALLY PRINTED wallcoverings with large scale photographic images help to create an atmosphere
or dramatic effect, as shown at the new spa at Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland. a76
for
Amanda Rosa Interiors selected its own artwork and supplied this to Muraspec to produce the large
scale digital print. In the spa’s changing area, soft focus photographic images of waterfalls provide
visual impact and an exotic twist, whereas in the café area a large print of a faded rose in sepia catches
the visitor’s eye.
Digitally printed wallcoverings provide an opportunity to deliver individual, high impact visuals. As any
kind of image can be used, the technology offers an unlimited scope for creativity. In addition to
individually created wallcoverings, Muraspec’s limited edition offers a collection of 16 designs.
Opened in March 2008, The Spa at Gleneagles by ESPA matches the highly individual style of The
Gleneagles Hotel. The AA Five Red star resort is set within 850 acres of Perthshire countryside and
home to three 18-hole Championship golf courses.
Flooring reflects opulence of hotel
THE YANG SING Oriental in Manchester, created by Gerry and Harry Yeung, owners of the award
winning Yang Sing Restaurant, is a new 48-bedroom boutique hotel sited in a sympatheticallya76
converted Victorian Grade II listed building.
Spaces
Formerly a cotton warehouse, and later a bank and catering equipment storage building, the hotel has
been given a 1930’s modern classic Oriental design by Manchester-based designer, Roberta Fulford.
All 48 individually designed bedrooms and suites, including duplex suites and the 89sqm Emperor
Suite, feature en-suites and lounge areas, with Kährs Oak Espresso Provence installed throughout.
The flooring has a distinct dark brown matt lacquer pre-finish, which complements the hotel’s
opulent design. The bevelled edge defines its one-strip design, whilst the Woodloc joint provides a fast,
glueless installation.
