Gardz (pictured below) is a fast-drying
water-based product that is formulated
to deeply penetrate and dry to a hard
film that seals and binds down porous
surfaces, paints and textured finishes.
Gardz can be used on a variety of
surfaces including new or damaged
plasterboard, plaster or wallcovering
adhesive residue. It penetrates multiple
layers of plasterboard facing paper,
according to Zinsser, drying to a water-
resistant finish that protects surfaces
from damage. a73
Revamp at Ponds Forge
THE £3M redevelopment of the international swimming venue Ponds Forge in Sheffield
has involved a major overhaul of the male and female changing areas (pictured above).

Prospec to install. The Compact Grade Laminate used for the project can be reliably used
in wet environments. Located next to the pool area, the product will be consistently
exposed to humidity and washing down and so also needs to be resistant to cleaning
fluids, chlorine and detergents.
Panel Systems provides a customised service for machining of laminate panels and other
sheet materials. Customers’ Cad files can be imported over the Internet to enable rapid
prototyping and manufacture. Prospec’s installers worked on the phased development at
Ponds Forge for almost three months in order to complete the refurbishment.
