In terms of crossing back to the US, there is rarely a queue at the Nuevo Laredo border checkpoint, even at peak hour on Friday afternoons. There is also no visible x-ray equipment. Rather, customs officers inspect bags manually. Remember, however, if you plan to bring Nembutal back to the US you will be breaking the law and harsh penalties may apply.
